BLESSING ADURE reports,

The Nigerian Youth Congress in collaboration with renowned Civil Society Organization at a press meeting in Abuja, condemned the unlawful arrest of Hon. Farah Dagogo, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant and Federal Lawmaker representing Bonny-Degema, by Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike.

Addressing a World Press Conference, the NYC president Comrade Blessing Akinlosotu described Dagogo arrest as
totally unacceptable, injury to the youths and a huge threat to Democracy and the Rule of Law in Nigeria as a whole, because Hon. Dagogo remains one of the most reliable and fast rising young Political Leaders, with great prospects in the forthcoming Governorship Election in Rivers State.

Young people of Nigeria are not just seeking for the immediate release of Hon. Dagogo, but also for equal rights of participation in politics without any fear of victimization or intimation.

It is on this note that the Youths and CSOs are calling on the public and relevant authorities to intervene in settling the scores between Wike and Dagogo with due respect for the Rule of Law, and in manner that will not result in Public contempt and provocations, of which failure to do so after 48 Hours will result to a Mass Public Protest against Governor Wike Nationwide.

The NYC and CSOs Leadership were fully represented at the Press Conference amongst other Nationwide Stakeholders and Youths Coalition Groups.
