Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez are officially engaged, marking a new chapter in their nearly decade-long romance.
Georgina Rodríguez shared the news on Instagram with a close-up photo of a sparkling diamond ring, writing in Spanish: “Yes I do. In this and in all my lives.”
While the post drew global attention, Ronaldo, the most followed person on Instagram, has yet to publicly comment.
The couple’s love story began in 2016 when they met at a Gucci store in Madrid, where Rodríguez was working. At the time, Ronaldo was playing for Real Madrid.
Since then, the 39-year-old Portugal and Al-Nassr star and the 31-year-old model have built a family together, raising five children, two of them shared biologically.
Their youngest, Bella, was born in April 2022 alongside her twin brother, who tragically was stillborn. Rodríguez has also been a mother figure to Ronaldo’s three older children who were born through surrogacy.
Rodríguez, known for her Netflix reality series I Am Georgina, had previously addressed wedding rumours on the show, revealing that friends often teased her about when Ronaldo would propose. “Since Jennifer Lopez’s song ‘The Ring or When’ came out, they started singing it to me. And well, this is not up to me,” she said.
The engagement news quickly attracted high-profile congratulations. Piers Morgan wished the couple “as much success in their marriage as he’s had on the football pitch,” while Kim Kardashian, Charlotte Tilbury, and Lauren Sánchez-Bezos were among the celebrities sending love.
With no wedding details revealed yet, fans are eagerly waiting to see when one of football’s most celebrated couples will officially tie the knot.
