A new born baby has reportedly been abandoned by her parents in a private maternity in Ilesa, Osun State.
The Osun State government has urged members of the public to come forward if they have any information on the location of the parents or relative of the baby.
Mr Jide Falade, Coordinating Director, Osun State Ministry of Women, Children and Social Affairs, revealed in a statement made on Thursday, April 7 that the mother of the baby was rushed to the hospital by her husband and her mother-in-law on February 14, complaining that she had stomach pain.
The statement added; “But after several examinations, she gave birth to a premature baby boy.
“Some hours thereafter, his parents and mother-in-law absconded, leaving the baby behind.
“All efforts made by the police and the ministry to locate the runaway parents had been fruitless”
Meanwhile, an unidentified man has reportedly attacked health workers in University of Medical Science Teaching Hospital, UNIMED, complex in Akure, Ondo State capital, over high medical bill.
The middle aged man slapped three health workers after nurses on duty gave him his aged mother’s bill.
According to Daily Post the man rained slaps on the health workers for being unable to explain why his bill was so huge. Read more
