Coronavirus: NCDC Confirms 371 New COVID-19 Cases In Nigeria

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday evening, 8th March 2021, confirmed 371 new cases of Coronavirus disease infection in Nigeria.

The new cases of COVID-19 infection were confirmed via a statement on the official Twitter handle of the national health agency.

This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nigeria to 158,906 which includes 138,502 discharged cases and 1,982 deaths.

Below is the breakdown of the latest cases according to states with Lagos State having the highest number of cases followed by Enugu State.

Meanwhile, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha alongside members of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, were vaccinated against COVID-19.

Naija News reports that the PTF Chairman took the vaccine at about 5.05 pm during the weekly press briefing of the task force in Abuja on Monday.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, received the vaccine immediately after the SGF took his first dose of the vaccine.

Also, the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire; the Minister of Environment, Mohammad Mahmood Abubakar, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama their turns.
