The Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, Lere Olayinka, has knocked a former aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Babafemi Ojudu, over an impeachment remark about former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose.
Naija News reported that Ojudu, while featuring on Edmund Obilo’s podcast, State Affairs, which was published on Thursday, said he plotted and scripted Fayose’s impeachment with the support of former President, Olusegun Obasanjo.
The former presidential aide disclosed that Obasanjo fought against him after realising what he (Ojudu) had done.
He said, “I plotted and scripted the impeachment of Fayose in Ekiti. I used Obasanjo and when he realized it, he fought back against me.
“I had an agreement and signed that Fayose should be impeached but make sure his deputy is not. I took all the lawmakers to Lagos where I kept them in hotels and was feeding and taking them around.”
Reacting via his X handle on Thursday, Lere Olayinka said Fayose is still ‘walking tall’ and challenged Ojudu to walk freely like the former Governor and see who would acknowledge him.
Sharing an image of Fayose at a Lagos event, Olayinka wrote, “This is Ayo Fayose, Osokomole in Lagos today, still walking tall.
“Let Buoda Gani Femi Ojudu, who is boasting to have singlehandedly removed Fayose as governor in 2006, come and walk and be acknowledged like this too.”
