Renato Veiga

Juventus are preparing to enhance their squad by signing Chelsea defender Renato Veiga on loan for the remainder of the season.

Juventus has reached an agreement to cover the player’s wages and pay a loan fee of £3.8 million. This deal does not include an option to buy.

Veiga, who joined Chelsea from Swiss club Basel in July for £11.8 million, has expressed a preference for playing as a center-back rather than left-back, a position he has found frustrating.

Chelsea believes that moving to Italy will provide him with more playing opportunities, especially as he aims to secure his spot in Portugal’s squad for the 2026 World Cup. Juventus have successfully outmaneuvered Champions League rivals Borussia Dortmund to secure Veiga’s services.

On a different note, Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has declined an £8.5 million offer from Brazilian club Flamengo. His current contract with Arsenal is set to expire at the end of the season, and speculation about his future has been ongoing. Palmeiras has also shown interest, though they haven’t made a formal offer yet.

Flamengo remains a strong candidate for his signature; however, reports indicate that negotiations have hit a snag, with both sides not yet in agreement.

Flamengo proposed a three-year deal valued at approximately £8.5 million, while Jorginho is seeking closer to £12 million in wages.

Since he arrived from Chelsea in 2023, he has made 70 appearances for Arsenal across all competitions but has found it challenging to secure consistent playing time this season under Arteta.
