One of the sons-in-law of President Muhammadu Buhari, Gimba Yau Kumo has been declared wanted by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
Naija News reports that Kumo who is married to Fatima Buhari was declared wanted by the anti-corruption agency in relation to the alleged misappropriation of funds under the national housing scheme.
Kumo, a former managing director of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria alongside two others – Mr. Tarry Rufus, and Mr. Bola Ogunsola were declared wanted by the ICPC in a statement published on the ICPC website on Thursday and signed by the spokesperson of the commission, Mrs Azuka C. Ogugua.
“The persons whose pictures appear above, Mr. Tarry Rufus, Mr. Gimba Yau Kumo and Mr. Bola Ogunsola, are hereby declared WANTED by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in connection with issues bordering on misappropriation of National Housing Funds and diversion of the sum of Sixty Five Million dollars ($65,000,000).”
“Anyone who has useful information on their whereabouts should report to ICPC Headquarters Abuja, any of the ICPC State Offices or the nearest police station,” the ICPC statement said alongside the pictures of the three persons.
It will be recalled that Kumo married Fatima, the president’s daughter, in 2016 at Daura, Katsina state.

Meanwhile, the Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) has urged state governors from the 17 southern states to leave President Muhammadu Buhari alone and channel their grievances to the National Assembly.
Naija News recalls that 17 Southern State Governors had two days back converged on Asaba, Delta State capital, where they made some resolutions and demands from the Federal government.
They demanded a ban on open grazing in the south and urged the president to convene a national dialogue summit, restructure the country.
Other demands included devolution of power, state police and new revenue allocation formula, among others which they believed would abate the cries of secession among different groups in the country.
Reacting in a statement signed by its Chairman Niyi Akinsiju and Secretary Cassidy Madueke, BMO pointed out that the National Assembly is in the right position to implement their demands.
