Buhari Missing As Osinbajo Presides Over FEC Meeting

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday presided over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Naija News reports that the vice-president presided over the meeting following the rumoured isolation of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Nigerian leader had returned to the country on Sunday after attending the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

Physically present in the FEC meeting include the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed; Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), amongst other government officials.

In other news, a video of some residents in Anambra State hailing unknown gunmen during an operation has surfaced on social media.

In the viral video, residents were captured rejoicing and hailing some unknown gunmen during an operation in the state.

It is unsure if anyone was assassinated during the operation as the gunmen were seen on foot on a busy road in Anambra.

The video has stirred reactions with social media users condemning the insensitive action of the residents.

Unknown gunmen have also killed Dr. Chike Akunyili, husband to late former Information Minister, Prof. Dora Akunyili.

It was gathered that Dr. Chike was murdered by the gunmen at Umuoji in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State on Tuesday evening.

A source disclosed that the late minister’s husband had earlier visited the University of Nigeria Nsukka Alumni Association (UNAA) where the late Dora was honoured.
