Nigeria’s number one citizen, President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Abdulganiyu Jaji as the new Controller General of the Federal Fire Service.
Naija News reports that Jaji was the Deputy Controller General in charge of Administration and Supplies before his latest appointment.
The President gave the approval in a statement signed by the Secretary to the Civil Defence, Immigration and Prisons Service Board (CDIPB), Aisha Rufai, in Abuja.
According to the statement, Jaji’s appointment took effect on April 22, 2022, and will lead the service for the foreseeable future.
The statement added that Jaji emerged as the top candidate out of those that went through the screening and selection process initiated by the Ministry of Interior.
Jaji takes over from Acting Controller General, Samson Karebo, who took up the leadership of the service after former Controller General, Ibrahim Liman, retired.
