Yoruba Nation protesters have taken to the streets of Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park, Ojota, Lagos, where the rally was scheduled to commence.
A live video by BBC pidgin showed protesters at the venue of the rally.
Naija News had earlier reported that armed security operatives stormed the venue of the rally.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Hakeem Odumosu, while speaking with newsmen at the venue of the rally for few minutes ago, said Nigerians have the right to peaceful protests.
According to him, the security operatives were deployed to the area to ensure that the protest was not hijacked by hoodlums.
