Unknown gunmen on Wednesday invaded the house of the lawmaker representing Orsu State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, Ekene Nnodumele, beheading his gateman on duty.
It was gathered that the armed men also set his house which is located in Ebenato, Awo Idemili on fire.
A further report had it that the gunmen also razed the house of the immediate past Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Cyprian Charles Akaolisa, in the community.
This is coming days after Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State alleged that opposition politicians and other disgruntled personalities are behind the rising insecurity in the country.
Speaking with State House Correspondents after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Monday, Uzodinma urged the federal government to go after those trying to destroy the country.
The governor added that opposition members and other disgruntled Nigerians are encouraging insecurity across the country.
