Police Seal Plateau State House Of Assembly

The seat of the former Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Abok Ayuba, has been declared vacant following his defection from the All Progressives Congress to the Peoples Democratic Party.

Ayuba’s seat was declared vacate during plenary on Tuesday at the temporary chamber of the House (old Government House) Jos.

The Speaker of the House, Yakubu Sanda, disclosed that the decision was reached following a letter addressed to the House by the state chapter of the APC asking it to declare Abok’s seat vacant for dumping APC to the PDP contrary to Section 109 (1) of the Nigerian Constitution.

Abok who dumped the ruling party last week was impeached five months ago by eight members of the House.

Meantime, the House on Tuesday also declared the seat of the immediate past member representing Irigwe/Rukuba State Constituency, Musa Agah vacant.

Agah’s seat was declared vacant having won the Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency bye-election.
