The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced a change of venue for the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) Meeting.
Naija News reports that heightened tension prevailed on Monday at the National Secretariat of the PDP in Abuja, as security operatives barred members of the party’s BoT from holding a scheduled meeting.
The meeting, which was expected to be held in the NEC Hall of the PDP’s Wadata Plaza headquarters in Wuse Zone 5, was disrupted by a heavy security presence.
Uniformed officers reportedly sealed off the premises and ejected those already inside.
According to Daily Trust, a senior officer was overheard issuing strict instructions to his men, directing that no form of gathering should take place within the building.
In a terse statement via its official 𝕏 handle, the opposition party disclosed that the meeting, earlier scheduled to be held at 10 am at the Party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, has been moved to the Yar’Adua Centre, Central Business District, Abuja.
The statement reads, “Special Announcement! Change of Venue for the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) Meeting. The Meeting of the Board of Trustees (BoT) Meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), @OfficialPDPNig, earlier scheduled to be held by 10 Am at the Party’s National Secretariat in Abuja has been moved to Yar’Adua Centre, Central Business District, Abuja.
