Armed robbers on Wednesday killed residents of Apomu, headquarters of Isokan Local Government Area and Ikire, headquarters of Irewole Local Government Area during attacks on two-generation banks and a police station.
According to the Nation, the robbers stormed the two communities around 6 pm, shooting sporadically.
It was reported that they invaded Apomu before moving to Ikire
The bullets fired injured residents while unspecified persons were killed during the attack.
A resident of Ikire, who identified himself as Sola, said: “The robbers came into the community around5:55 pm and were shooting.
“I don’t know maybe they were able to enter the bank and chart away money but I am sure that people were killed.”
The incident was confirmed by the spokesperson of the state police command, Yemisi Opalola.
She said: “The Commissioner of Police, Mr Olawale Olokode is now at the scene of the crime.
“The robbers attacked two banks and they killed some people. They attacked a police station during the operation.”
