A former deputy governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, and renowned economist Obadiah Mailafia is dead.
It was gathered that the former CBN Deputy governor died on Sunday morning at the National Hospital in Abuja, aged 64 years, PeoplesGazette reports.
Mailafia hailed from Randa, in the Christian-dominated Southern Kaduna, taught economics at different institutions.
After leaving the CBN, he was known for pursuing a solution to the protracted killings in Southern Kaduna.
A critic of the Muhammadu Buhari administration, Mailafia was at one time invited by the Department of State Services to explain some of his on-air comments about deliberate violence across the country.
