The Department of State Security Service (DSS) has reportedly released Salihu Tanko-Yakasai, a former spokesman to the Kano state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.
Yakasai’s release was confirmed by his elder brother, Umar Yakasai.
He disclosed that his brother is currently on the way home.
Another brother to Yakasai, Abdullahi, disclosed Salihu’s release via his Twitter handle.
“Alhamdulilah. My brother @dawisu is out. Thank you all #freedawisu,” Abdullahi tweeted.
Naija News recalls that Yakasai was arrested by the Department of State Services in Kano on Friday shortly before his sack by Governor Ganduje.
He was arrested after he called on President Muhammadu Buhari to address the activities of bandits in the country or resign.
Tanko-Yakasai stated this while reacting to the abduction of schoolgirls at Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe in Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
He noted that the government has failed in its responsibilities following the abduction of students in Nigerian schools.
