The Chairman of the Brand Journalists Association of Nigeria (BJAN), Princewill Ekwujuru, has reportedly died.
Naija News understands that the former Vanguard staff had undergone brain surgery weeks ago after he had a motorcycle accident along Badagry road.
However, after battling for survival for almost a month, Ekwujuru gave up the ghost at the Navy Hospital in Ojo, Lagos, Naija News reports.
The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has expressed sadness over the death.
Reacting to the demise of the journalist, Lagos Council Secretary, Tunde Olalere prayed that God will comfort the family and forgive the deceased’s shortcomings.
“He was a hard-working personality that believed in equality and equity. May his soul find rest with God Almighty”, Olalere noted.
The remains of Ekwujuru will be interred in his home town, Njaba in Imo State, on September 2, 2021
