Ogunwole said, “We have them given them automatic employment to retain them. A wise institution should do everything to retain its best. We want to start a Master’s programme and they will be among the first set of students.
“We will give them scholarships for Master’s and encourage them to go for PhD. It’s is not easy to come by PhD in Nursing but that is what Bowen is aiming at.”
On her part, the Head, Department of Nursing, University of Ibadan, Prisca Adejumo, urged the inductees to be technologically literate, saying that would help them a lot to be their best in the 21st Century where they would operate.
She said, “You need to upscale your capacity and join others in finding solutions to the problems of the world. You can’t afford not to be combative. You need to collaborate with other professionals.
“You cannot afford to be satisfied with knowing how to operate Microsoft word, you need more than that. Be technologically literate.”
The valedictorian, Adenike Kolade, appreciated the university, the teachers and other staff for impacting their lives as well as their parents.
She said, “Let us demonstrate professionalism in nursing because we are professionals and we should always behave as such.”
