French international player and Arsenal striker, Alexandre Lacazette has opened up on the relationship he has with former teamate and Gabonese international, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The duo established a productive strike partnership during Aubemayang’s time at Arsenal but Lacazette said prior to the arrival of the Gabonese player, he didn’t like him.
The French international explained that his dislike for Aubameyang stems from his social media activities prior to his arrival at the Emirates Stadium which were not okay with him.
Lacazette however added that off the social media, he later got to know a wonderful personality in the person of Aubameyang and the wonderful personality is the one he had a beautiful relationship with as a teammate.
He argued that most people don’t know the wonderful personality behind the person of Aubameyang as it is only what they see on the screens and on the social media they know.
“I had some misconceptions about him. Before he arrived, I didn’t like him. To be honest, I’m not mate with the Aubemayang you see on Instagram.
“I’m mates with Pierre-Emerick. People don’t know Pierre-Emerick. They know Aubameyang,” the France international told Canal+.
Naija News reports Aubameyang joined Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund in 2018 and went on to become the club captain.
The 32-year-old striker, however, left the Emirates in the 2022 winter transfer to join Barcelona after falling out of favour with the Gunner’s manager, Mikel Arteta.
