Gunmen suspected to be bandit terrorists have reportedly killed nine people and abducted six others in attacks carried out on Goronyo Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
It was gathered that the terrorists killed eight men and one woman in attack across three villages in the local government.
The villages attacked by the suspected bandits are Bejingo, Dantudu, and Tulutu, all in Birjin ward.
The gunmen also carted away herds of cattle belonging to the villagers during the attack on Saturday.
Corpses of the deceased had been buried according to Islamic rites.
Meanwhile, Gunmen suspected to be bandit terrorists have killed eight persons in fresh attack on farmers in Buruku and Udawa villages of Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
It was gathered that the gunmen attacked the victims while they were working on their farms on Saturday.
Confirming the attack, the State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Jalige Mohammed, said operatives have been mobilised to the area.
He was, however, unable to give details of the incident saying the actual number of deaths cannot be ascertained at the moment.
“Yes, there was an incident in the area and some persons were killed.
“We don’t have the details of the incident yet but we have sent our men to the area to gather information”, he added.
