Super Eagles of Nigeria forward, Ademola Lookman, could end up at Arsenal if the ongoing talks between his representatives and the Premier League side end well.
On Saturday, June 28, AFTV reported that the Premier League club has contacted Ademola Lookman to lure him out of his Italian side, Atalanta.
The Gunners, who have failed to win a major title since 2018 despite coming close in the last three seasons, are hunting for attacking-minded players to improve their chances of landing a trophy in the coming season.
Coach Mikel Arteta and his coaching crew have been relying on forwards like Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, and Leandro Trossard, but they have not been living up to expectations. Hence, a trusted winger like Ademola Lookman is seen as an ideal addition to the squad.
Note that the 26-year-old winger has been in great form in the last two seasons. Lookman has scored 52 goals and provided 25 assists in 118 games for Atalanta since he joined the Italian side.
The biggest season of his career was the 2023-2024 campaign in which he scored a hat-trick in the Europa League final as Atalanta won their first-ever major European title in style.
Despite that, Lookman is reportedly eager to leave the Italian side this summer and they are ready to sell him to any suitor who can pay at least €60 million for his services.
Arsenal will compete with other European giants like Manchester United, Juventus, and Napoli who are said to be closely monitoring Lookman this summer.
