The Caretaker Extra-Ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has released its timetable for the conduct of party’s congresses from the ward to zonal levels.
Naija News reports that the APC was however silent on the conduct of its National Convention.
Secretary to the Committee, Senator John James Akpanduoehehe, disclosed these to newsmen at the party secretariat in Abuja after their meeting under Gov. Mai Mala Buni.
He stated that ward congresses will hold July 10th, local government congresses are fixed for August 6t while the state congress will be on September 3 and zonal congress for 30th September, 2021.
The party secretary directed the party’s Director of Organisation, Prof. Ussiju Medear to release the details of the timetable/schedule of the congresses.
Meanwhile, the President of Nigeria and the National leader of the All Progressives Congress, Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday, said nobody has the power to decide for the party on zoning.
Buhari made this claim while responding to a question during an interview with Arise TV on Thursday.
He further stated that only members of the ruling party have the power to make a decision for the party.
According to Buhari, the acting leaders of the party is working on restructuring the party and make every member feel at home.
