A former Chairman of Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON, Chief Alan B Onyemaechi, has declared interest in the post of National Welfare Secretary of the All Progressive Congress, APC at the forthcoming National Convention of the Party slated to hold in Abuja on March 26, 2022.
He said he will vie for the post during the March 26 National Convention of the party.
The position of National Welfare Secretary was zoned to Imo State.
In a press release issued in Owerri, the Imo State capital, Alan B, who was a former Special Adviser, Inter Party Affairs in Imo State, said the office of National Welfare Secretary of APC, requires a person with experience in managing human beings especially politicians, saying that with his years of experience as a Media and public affairs manager, and as a former Special Adviser Inter Party Affairs, he has all it takes to make the post vibrant and successful.
Describing APC as a world-wide brand, the APC chieftain and political strategist, said if elected, he will boost the morale of party members across all levels.
He said:” I will boost the morale of party officers, staff and members, and bring professionalism in the administrative system.
I will equally restore confidence among party faithfuls and work to promote internal and external goodwill for APC”.
Alan B described President Muhammadu Bihari as a father-figure of the party who has instilled discipline, party cohesion and oneness in APC, stressing that he will leverage on the president’s sterling achievements to bring a different perspective to the day-to-day running of the office of National Welfare Secretary.
“Luckily, we have in President Bihari, a man of discipline, candour, resilience and pragmatic. A man who insists that things must be done orderly. He has virtually destroyed impunity in the party. If elected as National Welfare Secretary of APC.
I will leverage on Mr President’s achievements, both as the leader of the party, as well as Commander in Chief, to bring about a radical reformation in the Welfare of members for the overall good of the party”.
Alan B Onyemaechi called on party faithfuls to see a bigger picture of APC as a party that will take the nation to socio-economic and political eldorado, adding that the party has men and women of integrity that can make Nigeria prosperous.
He said all hands must be on deck to make sure that the March 26 National Convention of the party was successful as it will usher in a new vision, direction, and new ways of doing things in APC.
He said:” The leadership of the party, and by extension, all members, have a task to make sure that the National Convention is successful. The President have shown the determination to bring all waring factions together. We must exhibit such patriotism and help him to make sure that the National Convention is a huge success
