Yoruba traditional ruler, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi will be buried today (Saturday).
The Head of Oyo Mesi, who is the Prime Minister of Oyo Kingdom, High Chief Yusuf Ayoola, disclosed this on Saturday while addressing newsmen at the palace.
Ayoola said, “We have called the Imam. Baba will be buried today around 4pm.”
According to Oyo prime minister, Oba Adeyemi died at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti on Friday night.
He further stated that the necessary rites of passage had been performed.
The longest-reigning Alaafin who died at age 83, served as Alaafin of Oyo for 52 years.
