Akwa Ibom Governor Reshuffles Cabinet, Sacks Senior Aide

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has conducted a minor cabinet reshuffle.

Naija News reports that the governor redeployed Capt. Iniobong Ekong (Rtd) from the Ministry of Lands and Town Planning to the Ministry of Trade and Investment, while Dr. Ubong Inyang, who previously served in Trade and Investment, was reassigned to head the Ministry of Lands and Town Planning.

Alongside the reshuffle, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Land Matters, ESV. Udeme Daniel Isa, was relieved of his appointment with immediate effect.

He has been directed to hand over all government property and documents in his possession to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Lands.

The government explained that the reshuffle was carried out to strengthen the State Executive Council in line with the ARISE Agenda.

The changes take immediate effect.

In other news, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has vowed to contest for Nigeria’s number one political seat in the 2027 presidential election.

Atiku, a former chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of trying to ridicule and play down the current momentum in the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Atiku stated that the ADC coalition will shock the world in the 2027 presidential election.
