Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has announced plans to flag off two major road projects in the state amid criticisms against his administration’s development agenda.
The projects include the dualisation of Ila Orangun township road and the second phase of the Osogbo-Ikirun-Ila-Odo-Kwara boundary road.
Governor Ademola Adeleke is expected to launch the projects during a visit to Ila Orangun, Ifelodun, and Odo Otin local government areas in the coming week.
The governor made the announcement while receiving a delegation of Osun elders on a courtesy visit, saying that recent “unsubstantiated statements” by political rivals, including a former governorship candidate, would not derail his administration’s focus.
“These misrepresentations and misinformation have only strengthened my resolve to push ahead with the all-inclusive infrastructure upgrade and delivery of good governance in our dear state,” Adeleke said, according to a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed earlier today, July 19.
Governor Adeleke highlighted his government’s record of achievements in sectors ranging from infrastructure and health to education and agriculture, citing reports by both federal agencies and independent organisations that have rated Osun State highly on several indices.
“Our excellent performance was affirmed by patriots, lovers of true development, friends, and even foes,” he noted, adding that Osun was recently ranked fifth nationally in the 2025 Q1 fiscal transparency index.
Adeleke also described his government as “transparent, accountable, and compliant with due process,” asserting that his critics have resorted to “name-calling, blackmail, and libellous allegations” in response to his success in less than three years in office.
Despite the political noise, Adeleke affirmed his commitment to delivering on campaign promises, especially in infrastructure development.
He said, “My team and I remain focused and undistracted. I commend the Osun people for their support and unwavering commitment to good governance.”
