Former Senate President and presidential aspirant, Bukola Saraki has condemned the attack on an Abuja-Kaduna train in Kaduna State on Monday night.
Naija News earlier reported that bandit terrorists had planted explosives on the rail track which saw the Kaduna-bound train derail.
It was gathered that the train which took off around 6 pm from the Idu train station at the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja hit an explosive device about 30 minutes to Rigasa train station in Kaduna.
According to reports, two persons were reportedly killed with many passengers injured during the attack on the train.
In a statement on his verified Facebook page on Tuesday, Saraki expressed concern over the bombing of the Abuja-Kaduna train tracks in Kaduna state.
The former Senate President said the country needs real solution to address the security challenges facing it in order to end the loss of lives of innocent Nigerians.
Saraki also called on various security agencies to enhance their efforts in ports and railways across the country.
He, however, condoled with the victims of the attack and prayed that the attackers will be apprehended immediately.
He wrote: “I am monitoring the reports of the bombing of the Abuja-Kaduna train tracks with great concern. We need real solutions to address this menace and end the loss of lives of innocent Nigerians.
“My prayers are with the hundreds of people and their families who are affected by this senseless attack. I pray that the attackers will be apprehended forthwith and our security agencies enhance their efforts in our ports and railways.”
