Bandits in Kaduna State has reportedly murdered a woman who is said to be due for child delivery.
Information reaching Naija News at this time confirmed that the incident happened on Sunday, January 25 along the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari highway.
The suspected armed banditsbandits reportedly attacked and opened fire on a commercial vehicle traveling through the route and killed the woman who is said to be a health worker.
Naija News understands that the tragic event happened while the deceased was heading to Kaduna from Birnin Gwari at a place called Zankoro before Unguwar Yako on Sunday.
The deceased’s cousin Aliyu Mahmud who confirmed the incident to Daily Trust via phone revealed the name of the victim as Aisha Yusuf.
Mahmud described the deceased as a dedicated volunteer health worker in Birnin Gwari community.
He said: ” She was eight months pregnant but very hardworking and dedicated to her work at the PHC where she works in Birnin Gwari. Most of the people in this community liked her a lot because of her commitment to work even though she is a volunteer worker,”
When contacted, the State Police Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige, promised to call the Divisional Police Officer of the area to acquire details before commenting.
