Joshua Babatunde Aiyenuro, popularly known as T-JOS, the official barber to Nigeria’s Super Eagles, is preparing for a second attempt at a Guinness World Record for the Longest Professional Hairdressing Marathon.
This second record attempt is scheduled to begin on January 29, 2026, following a decision of the Management of the Guinness World Record over his first bold attempt in 2025 wherein he worked 154 hours non-stop. However, some technical issues on documentation and glitches prevented official validation, prompting Guinness World Records to encourage a fresh attempt.
T-JOS says the upcoming Marathon is not just about endurance but about proving consistency, discipline, and excellence in the Nigerian Youth and fast growing barbing industry.
The event is expected to draw public attention and media coverage, with strict timekeeping, documentation and independent verifications in place. It will also see Aiyenuro deliver continuous professional hairdressing services over an extended period in line with Guinness World Records’ strict guidelines and verification standards.
Supporters, media personnel and members of the public have been invited to witness the record bid as Aiyenuro looks to finally secure a place in global history.
T-JOS has been with the Super Eagles in Morocco, while his Technical Team had been actively mobilizing support and prayers for victory of Nigeria at the Tournament.
Aiyenuro expressed his profound gratitude to all that supported him in his previous attempt, and still supporting this second trial, making special mention of the MD/CEO of IBD Group who he said has invested huge money to his campaign, also the Management of the Nigerian Football Federation and Players of the Super Eagles. HE went on to thank the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Ayedatiwa, as well as Amb. Blessing AKINLOSOTU, the President of African Civil Society Forum, for standing fully by him.
