The Nigerian Young Leaders for Good Governance Group (NYL-3G) has declared Hon. Nonso Smart Okafor as the best man to receive the Mantle of Governance of Anambra State from the people’s and performing Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano.
Rising from an Extraordinarily Meeting of the Group in Abuja, attended by cream of renowned Past and Incumbent Youth Leaders of Nigeria, a Communique was issued over the forthcoming Governorship Election in Anambra State.
In the Communique a Vote of Confidencee was passed on the Administration of His Excellency Chief Willie Obiano (Akpokuedike) for Integrated Development of Anambra State within the last 8 Years, especially in changing the Security Narratives of the State, coupled with massive Infrastructure Works, of which the International Cargo Airport is a clear testimony.
The Communique further commends the Leadership of the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA for always producing excellent Candidates for Governorship Elections in Anambra State, resulting in successive victories of the Party in the Polls.
The NYL-3G went ahead to urge Chief Obiano and the Party leadership to go a step further in the forthcoming Governorship Election in Anambra by creating history through effecting a generational shift of Governmental Power in the State by producing a Youthful Governor with good track records and requisite experience.
They argued that the great performances of the Governor and APGA in Anambra State will be better crowned and highly beautified by placing it on Historic Records that APGA produced the Youngest Governor in Nigeria so far.
The Communique, which is to be transmitted to appropraite Authorities, specified Hon. Nonso Smart Okafor for the job, describing him as one of the finest, most tested and trusted Young Leader in Nigeria, from the Igbo Extraction, who has served the Constituency meritoriously and satisfactorily in various capacities, one of which is the Chairmanship of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Anambra State Chapter.
The Group stated that the Anambra Election will be a Litmus Test for the Youths and Young People of Nigeria towards achieving the desired Generational Power Shift in the 2023 General Elections, hence, calling on all Youth Leaders and Stakeholders in the Constituency to rally support to produce Hon. Okafor as next Governor of Anambra.
NYL-3G strongly advised the Leadership of APGA that, with the current Political Temperature of the Country and the determination of Young People of Nigeria to disrupt the Status Quo in Governance across the Federation, any attempt to produce an overaged Candidate (anyone far above 40 years) may cost and deny APGA or any other Political Party, whatsoever, Victory in the Election.
