Unmarried Women At 35 Are Not Having Fun - Kanayo .O. Kanayo

Veteran Nollywood actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo, has lauded the pioneers of the movie industry for their contributions to the Nigerian entertainment sector.

Naija News reports that the thespian, in a post via Instagram on Monday, September 1, 2025, reflected on the struggles of early Nigerian filmmakers, stating that the industry was built through their tears, sweat, and blood.

Giving a dramatic comparison to Hollywood, Kanayo said the skin colour of American star, Denzel Washington, would turn charcoal if he put in the number of hours that many Nollywood stars put into movie production.

The film star added that despite the hard work and physical strain their passion for acting put them through, some of them are still hale and hearty.

In his words, “If Denzel Washington puts in the number of hours I put in the production here, his color will change to charcoal the next day. Because we built this industry with tears, sweat, and blood.

“Some of us are lucky to still have our health in good condition. We started this industry at a time when there was a light called 2K. If they bring one 2K on you, they will remove it from your name.”

Meanwhile, actress Mo Bimpe has called out a social media user who mocked her for not having children while she promoted her new movie My Miracle.

Naija News reports that the Nollywood star premiered the film on her YouTube channel, MobimpeTV, on Sunday, but a troll used the opportunity to attack her with harsh comments about her womb and childbearing.

The user left a series of offensive remarks on Instagram, accusing her of being barren and questioning her womanhood.
