'Pointing One Finger At Others With Four Pointing Back' - APC Slams El-Rufai Over Recent Actions

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has hit out at the immediate past governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, accusing him of embodying the future he once predicted for others.

In a terse statement shared on its official 𝕏 handle on Friday, the APC criticised the former governor’s actions, likening him to someone who points fingers at others while ignoring their own faults.

“Mallam Nasir El-Rufai now living a future foretold by no other than himself… El-Rufai, a stellar example of pointing one finger at others with four pointing back…,” the APC wrote, implying hypocrisy in his actions.

The party further advised against taking seriously those who speak loudly but fail to address the emptiness beneath their words.

“Never take people seriously who speak with sound & fury that only masks the harrowing hollowness they carry within,” the APC stated.

Naija News reports that El-Rufai, a founding member of the APC, shocked many when he left the party in March 2025 to join the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Meanwhile, former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, has described ex-President Goodluck Jonathan as the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) strongest option for the 2027 presidential election, calling on the party to make deliberate moves to bring him back.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, Lamido said Jonathan remains the most viable candidate the PDP can present, given his experience, leadership record, and collaborative style.

Lamido said, “I think for PDP now, they should try and woo him; he is their best bet. To me, he is their best bet. Anybody put forth by the PDP, Nigerians will support him.”

Naija News reports that Lamido argued that no current PDP member from the South can match Jonathan’s pedigree.

“If we are giving the presidency to the South, it will be the PDP. Who is there in PDP now that can challenge Jonathan in terms of being in office, being full-headed, being somebody who is willing to listen, and somebody who is also a key player who believes in partnership?” he asked.

He noted that Jonathan had led the country before, understood the complexities of governance, and maintained a working relationship with diverse political actors.

The former governor’s comments come amid persistent speculation about Jonathan’s possible return to the PDP to seek the presidency in 2027.
