May Edochie, estranged wife of Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has opened up about the struggles she faced after her marriage crashed.
Naija News reports that the mother of three spoke during the launch of her beauty brand in London.
The influencer revealed that she lost all her businesses and was left dealing with heavy financial pressure from debts owed to three different banks.
May explained that her businesses collapsed within a short period, and the financial stress came at a time when she had multiple bank loans to repay.
She said that the losses affected her deeply, with goods in her stores expiring and no revenue to fall back on.
Despite the difficulties, she said she remained determined to push through without relying on others.
“It was barely a few months when all the unprecedented occurrences came my way, I sat and watched everything go down the drain and it came at a time I had to repay three banks.
“The banks had been helping me really good, but it was unfortunate that everything happened at the same time and I lost everything. While so much was going on social media, I was battling other things a lot of people don’t know about. In the midst of these, I still had to pay three banks loan, interests were piling. Like I said I had lost all my businesses, goods expired in my stores, everything went down. But because I believe in myself and I know what I am made of, I said no I am not going to be at the mercy of anyone”, she said.
In 2022, Yul confirmed his marriage to fellow actress Judy Austin, a move that stirred controversy and reportedly strained his relationship with May.
