Actor Ugezu Tackles Akpabio For Appealing Natasha’s Reinstatement

Nollywood actor Ugezu J. Ugezu has criticised Senate President Godswill Akpabio for appealing the court judgment that ordered the reinstatement of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

Naija News reports that Ugezu shared his view on Instagram.

The filmmaker asked why Akpabio would challenge the ruling of a competent court that declared Natasha’s suspension unlawful and directed her return to the Senate.

He reminded Akpabio that both he and Natasha were elected by the people and that no senator has the power to remove another from office indefinitely.

Ugezu called on the Senate President to set aside distractions and focus on meaningful legislative work instead of dragging a colleague’s reinstatement through prolonged court battles.

He wrote: “The same way SHE got elected to represent her people… was the way you got elected to represent YOUR people. Now you suspended her. A competent court ruled that you have no right to suspend an elected senator infinitum… ordered her reinstatement. AND YOU ARE APPEALING THE JUDGMENT? SENATE PRESIDENT SIR, CAN YOU SHUN FRIVOLITIES AND FACE YOUR REAL TIME PARLIAMENTARY DUTIES?”

Naija News reports that Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, filed a notice of appeal challenging the judgment of the Federal High Court in Abuja, which ordered the recall of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to the upper legislative chamber following her suspension.

The appeal, dated July 14, 2025, was filed at the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, and is registered as CA/A//2025.

It stems from suit number FHC/ABJ/CS/384/2025, filed earlier by Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan to contest her six-month suspension from the Senate.
