The daughter of Nigeria’s former President Muhammadu Buhari, Noor Buhari, has taken to social media to pen an emotional tribute to her late father.
Naija News reported earlier that the immediate former Nigerian leader died on Saturday, July 13, at the age of 82, in a London clinic.
Buhari’s death has received an outpouring of condolences from across the country and beyond.
Taking to Instagram Stories, Noor shared an emotional message expressing deep sorrow over her father’s passing and the personal moments they never got to share.
“I’m heartbroken that we won’t get to share the moments and experiences I had planned for us.
“I’ll always carry your memory with me. I pray that you’re granted the highest place in Jannah, and your soul rests in eternal peace, Daddy,” she wrote.
Naija News reports that Noor’s message comes as tributes continue to pour in across Nigeria, with religious bodies, political figures, and ordinary citizens honouring the late president’s life and legacy.
Meanwhile, an Islamic school in Bauchi State had organised a three-day prayer programme to mourn the late president.
The school expressed that the spiritual exercise reflects the late president’s enduring influence in Northern Nigeria and his deep-rooted ties to Islamic teachings.
Buhari, who ruled Nigeria as a military head of state in the 1980s and later as a two-term civilian president from 2015 to 2023, remains a complex and controversial figure in Nigerian history.
Despite mixed reactions from many Nigerians, Buhari’s passing has brought together supporters and critics alike in solemn reflection on his role in shaping the nation’s political journey.
