Reality TV star, Pere Egbi, has urged Nigerians to resist the urge to celebrate the death of any human being, no matter their views about the person.
Naija News reports that the actor revealed this in a tweet while sharing his thoughts on the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The former Big Brother Naija housemate acknowledged that Buhari, like every human, was not perfect but did his best while leading the country.
He criticized those celebrating Buhari’s death, asking what they stand to gain from such actions.
According to him, regardless of how anyone feels about the former president, rejoicing over his death is pointless and unwise.
He wrote: “This is a sad day for Nigeria and Nigerians. May God grant your family the fortitude to bear this great Loss. You led Nigeria to the best of your ability. While you weren’t a perfect man or leader (because no man is and no man will ever be), you gave your all to the country you.
“One thing about death, when it comes, you are wiped clean off the earth. Nothing else will matter to those you left behind. Whether love or hate or whatever. You’re gone, you’re gone. That’s why it’s USELESS to celebrate and be happy over the death of anyone regardless of how they made you feel or how they lived their life.
“They are now NO MORE. They are now HISTORY. They have now entered into eternity and are now being questioned by THE MOST HIGH. So you that is wanting to celebrate the death of PMB, what exactly is your gain? Nothing!”.
