Former Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp said that he is heartbroken over the demise of his ex-player, Diogo Jota.
The world was stunned when the news went viral that Diogo Jota and his brother, Andre Silva, had died in a ghastly motor accident on Thursday, July 3.
Jota was heading to the jetty to board a ferry heading to the United Kingdom to catch up with the Liverpool squad ahead of their resumption on Monday when his supercar crashed.
According to reports, the tyre of his supercar burst, and then it veered off the road before it caught fire. He and his brothers died before a rescue team arrived at the scene of the accident.
“This is a moment where I struggle”, Jurgen Klopp wrote. “There must be a bigger purpose!
“But I can’t see it! I’m heartbroken to hear about the passing of Diogo and his brother André.
“Diogo was not only a fantastic player, but also a great friend, a loving and caring husband and father!
“We will miss you so much!
“All my prayers, thoughts and power to Rute, the kids, the family, the friends and everyone who loved them!
“Rest in peace – Love.”
Former Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea also paid his tribute to the late Portuguese striker. He wrote on 𝕏, “Sometimes life is very cruel”.
