The Forum of South-East Academic Doctors (FOSAD) has lauded the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for his timely and compassionate intervention in the appointment of Dr. Paul Enyi as a Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics Education, Ebonyi State University (EBSU).
In a statement jointly signed by Dr. Stephen Nwala, President of FOSAD, and Dr. Uzor Ngoladi, Secretary General, the forum expressed profound gratitude to the Governor for upholding the values of merit, fairness, and academic excellence in the state’s education sector.
Dr. Paul Enyi’s remarkable story has inspired many across the country. Once a cleaner at Ebonyi State University, Enyi successfully earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mathematics in 2022. Despite his academic achievement, delays marred his appointment into the university’s academic staff, until Governor Nwifuru’s decisive action changed his fortunes.
According to the forum, the Governor’s intervention “not only restores hope to many young, hardworking scholars within and beyond Ebonyi State but also strengthens public confidence in the responsiveness and fairness of the current administration in matters of education and human capital development.”
FOSAD praised the Governor for recognizing and empowering deserving talents like Dr. Enyi, affirming that such actions send a strong message that resilience, hard work, and excellence are still rewarded in Nigerian institutions.
The academic forum further pledged its continued support to the Nwifuru-led administration in its efforts to advance education, research, and human capital development in the South-East and the nation at large.
