The Executive Chairman of Mokwa Local Government Area, Hon. (Amb) Jibril Abdullahi Muregi, received the National Commandant of the Peace Corps of Nigeria, Prof. (Amb) Dickson O. Akor, at his family house in Soje A, Kpakungu, Minna.
The visit was a condolence gesture following the recent passing of Hon. Muregi’s father, Alhaji Suleiman Jibrin Muregi (Tswako Kuta Eduti). Prof. Akor, accompanied by senior officials of the Peace Corps of Nigeria, expressed deep sympathy over the loss.
In his remarks, Prof. Akor described the late Alhaji Suleiman as a man of integrity and wisdom whose legacy is reflected in the leadership and service of his son, Hon. Muregi. He prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased’s soul.
Hon. Muregi, while expressing his heartfelt gratitude, appreciated Prof. Akor and his delegation for their visit and support. He noted that his late father’s guidance and principles of humility, service and dedication to community welfare continue to inspire his leadership.
“The passing of my father is a great personal loss, but his teachings remain a source of strength,” Hon. Muregi stated. “I am deeply touched by this show of solidarity from Prof. Akor and the Peace Corps, and I remain committed to upholding the values he stood for.”
The visit concluded with prayers for the repose of the late Alhaji Suleiman Jibrin Muregi and for continued peace and development in Mokwa Local Government Area.
