BAUCHI YOUTH FORUM TASK GOV. BALA MOHAMMED ON REFLECTIVE, EXAMPLERARY LEADERSHIP

The Bauchi State Youth Consultative Forum has tasked Governor Bala Mohammed to reflect on his leadership style as it can make or mar the peace and democratic history of the State.

The statement was contained in a Communique issued from the Press Meeting by the Forum on Thursday, January 16th, 2024
“Sequel to series of meetings and consultations among various Stakeholders and
a significant proportion of electorates, and having keenly observing the ongoing
political brouhaha between Bauchi State and the federal government
particularly, as it involves our Governor Sen. Bala Mohammed Abdulqadir
(Kauran bauchi) and his cohorts. Which in effect, amounting to avoidable and
unnecessary heating the politics of our dear nation as well, distracting the
development agenda of President Asiwaju bola Ahmed tinubu; We in the state
unanimously resolved to state our position in an unambiguous and unequivocal
terms as follows :

  1. We are using this medium to inform the world in every strongest term possible
that, we denounce, detest and disclaim Sen. Bala Mohammed Abdulqadir
ongoing campaign of calumny and character assassination.
  2. The meeting also inferred that, we voted him (Kauran Bauchi) to govern the
state and to represent the good people of his state to attract dividend of
democracy and to protect our collective interest, NOT to be engaging his fellow
party members in a fierce media battle for his personal interest and the interest
of whosoever have political vendetta to settle with anyone. The meeting also
concluded that, the collective interest of the state, Bauchi State and Nigeria at
large is superior to his personal interest and that of his political Association in
Abuja and therefore stick to his primary assignment. also, NO ANY meaningful
development can come to our state with our governor (Kauran Bauchi) joining
issue with the chief executive of our country. instead of spending huge sum of
money in print and electronic media in his effort to become a media HERO, he
should rather channel the resources to his people at the grassroots, for
construction of health and education facilities and other social amenities.

He who comes to equity must come with clean hands and He who seeks equity
must do equity. We have taken note of Governor Bala Mohammed’s recent
criticism of President Tinubu’s policies. we cannot help but wonder if he is
prioritizing the right issues.
We cannot help but question whose
interest Governor Mohammed is serving by criticizing the president’s policies
while his own state is plagued by mismanagement and corruption.

  1. Governor Mohammed’s administration has been accused of running a family
and friends government, neglecting the welfare of pensioners, and mismanaging
the state’s resources. The recent strike by workers of tertiary institutions in his
state over inflated contracts is a testament to his administration’s priorities.
As the great leader, Nelson Mandela, once said, “A leader is like a shepherd. He
stays behind the flock, letting the most nimble go out ahead, whereupon the
others follow, not realizing that all along they are being directed from behind.”
We urge Governor Mohammed to take a cue from Mandela’s words and focus
    on leading by example.
  2. Instead of criticizing the president’s policies, Governor Mohammed should
prioritize the welfare of his people and ensure that his administration is
    transparent and accountable.
