The Chairperson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum, Bala Mohammed, has expressed strong confidence that the party will navigate its current challenges successfully.
The statement came during a reception for the Acting PDP National Chairperson, Umar Damagum, at the Bauchi State Government House on Friday.
Governor Mohammed, who also serves as the governor of Bauchi State, acknowledged the significant issues facing the party but emphasized the commitment of the governors to work collectively towards resolving these problems.
“We may have political hiccups, but certainly, we have a way of coming back,” he stated, highlighting the resilience of the party.
During the meeting, which included chairpersons of the PDP from the North-east region, Mohammed reiterated the importance of unity within the party, particularly in times of crisis.
“The most important thing in today’s outing is that the North-east is one. We are together and we are unified,” he affirmed.
He assured Damagum that he would engage with his fellow governors to discuss the next steps regarding the party’s ongoing issues. This comes at a time when the PDP is facing internal strife, including leadership challenges and factional disputes.
As the PDP seeks to strengthen its position and address the current turmoil, Mohammed’s remarks reflect a determination to restore harmony and effectiveness within the party as they look toward upcoming political challenges .
