Rivers LG Election: Voting Commences In Emohua LGA

Voting has officially commenced in the Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State for the Local Government Council Elections.

The electoral process began at 8:30 am at Unit 3, 025, Ward 4, NlMgbueto Community, as electoral officers arrived to facilitate the voting.

As of the latest updates, the voting process has been peaceful, with no police or security operatives in sight, creating an environment of calm during the elections.

Omenihu Jackson, the Councillorship Candidate for the Action Peoples Party (APP), expressed satisfaction with the electoral process after casting his vote.

He stated, “The election has been peaceful. People are conducting themselves well, and the process is going on smoothly.”

Collins Amesi, the leader of the ward, echoed Jackson’s sentiments, expressing confidence in the election’s integrity. He remarked on the absence of police presence, stating, “You can see that the election is going on well without police. We commend the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) for conducting this peaceful process.”

However, Amesi also noted that the lack of police presence raised concerns about the credibility of the election.
