The Presidency has insisted that Nigeria as a country is currently under the best democratic government.
Naija News understands that President Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, stated this on Friday, March 26 while appearing on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily.
The presidential aide insisted that Nigerians are enjoying the freedom of speech under his principal’s administration. According to Shehu: “The fastest way to reach President Buhari is to reach the press and reveal the wrongdoing that’s happening.
“People should be free to say whatever because this country is under the best democratic government that we have had since the fourth republic.”
Shehu maintained that the present government has not shifted its focus on securing Nigerians amid the ongoing series of kidnapping of students and residents.
He lamented over the mass abductions of students across states, noting that the situation was embarrassing to the president, Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora. Shehu assured Nigerians that President Buhari is focused on uniting and preserving the country.
He pointed out that the president was very much aware of events across the country.
He added: “This President is focused on securing this country, he is focused on the unity of this country, and he will preserve it.”
Meanwhile, Islamic cleric, Ahmad Gumi, on Thursday disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari’s shoot-on-order is hindering the release of the abducted students of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanization, Kaduna, Naija News reports.
