Ibikunle Amosun Should Be With DSS, Not Talking On Internet - Ohunayo

The Assistant Secretary General of Aviation Safety Roundtable Initiative, Olumide Ohunayo, has said the former governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun, should be with the Department of State Services (DSS) to answer questions on the Chinese firm saga.

Olumide Ohunayo said the agreement between Zhongshang Fucheng Industrial Investment Ltd and the Ogun State government was poorly drafted.

He argued that the Chinese firm passed a vote of no confidence on the Nigerian judiciary. Ohundayo added that if the Chinese firm had filed suit in Nigeria, the company may not get fair judgement.

Speaking in an interview with News Central on Wednesday, he said the Aviation sector has also been suffering from government’s poorly drafted agreements.

Ohundayo said, “Governor Ibikunle Amosun should be with the DSS right now rather than talking on the internet and responding to Professor Utomi. I think once again we have thrown ourselves into the international forum as another country that does not stick to agreements and when you don’t stick to agreement you tend to drive investors away.

“No matter what efforts you put in on domestic fronts your agreements must be sacrosanct that has been a major problem in the Aviation industry and I think this again has also woken us up to see that we need to empower an independent judiciary.

“The Chinese firm refused to come to any court in Nigeria because he was not sure of getting a fair judgment and even if he gets judgement implementation might be difficult or might take year.

“I think this is another lesson for us to tidy up our sense of agreement, whether it’s domestic or international. We must ensure we pay for a good lawyer to look at it to ensure that everything corresponds.”
