Suspected gunmen on Monday killed three police officers attached to the Abia State Police Command.
It was reported that the police officers serving at the Abiriba police division were killed in Abiriba in the Ohafia Local Government Area of the state.
The affected police officers were identified as Inspector Austin Ugwu, Inspector Longinus Ugochukwu and PC Ama Ifeanyi.
It was gathered that the police operatives were ambushed around 8.30 am by the gunmen who took away two of their riffles.
This coming few weeks after gunmen attacked a police station in Aba, Abia State and killed two police officers.
The attackers also burnt all the operational vehicles parked within the premises of the police station.
Meanwhile, a Fulani community leader in Kaduna State, Alhaji Lawal Musa, popularly known as Alhaji Maijama’a has been killed by armed bandits.
The Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, who confirmed the development in a statement on Monday, March 22 revealed that Musa was killed by the armed bandits on Sunday, 21st March.
He disclosed further that the Fulani community leader was brutally murdered by the bandits right before his family in Doka, Kajuru Local Government Area of the state.
