The Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency Mr. Udom Emmanuel has noted with delight the developmental strides of Eket Council Boss, Rt. Hon. Akaniyene Tommey.
Governor Udom Emmanuel made this commendation during the 60th Edition of Akwa Ibom Youth Prayer Conference held yesterday at the Apostolic Church, City of Testimony Assembly, Akai Nyoho street. The Theme for March 2021 Edition is; THEY THAT SEEK THE LORD.
The Governor who was represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Lands and Water Resources, Pst. Umo Eno, delivering the Governor’s speech commended the Executive Chairman of Eket Local Government Rt. Hon. Akaniyene Tommey for his dynamic leadership.
“We have taken special note of what you have done. You have made Eket peaceful and your leadership as a youth is very impressive, exceptional and credible”.
“His Excellency is a youth at heart and has continued to support youth activities. Let me thank Comr. Iwaudofia, the special Assistant to His Excellency on Youth Matters, for taking after the footsteps of His Excellency by anchoring this initiative”, he added.
Further commending Hon. Pst. Frank Archibong, the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs for the spiritual investment, raising a structure for worship. “This is a clear imitation of the leadership of His Excellency. The Governor has blazed a good spiritual path and we must not deviate” he adviced.
Earlier, the Executive Chairman of Eket Local Government Rt. Hon. Akaniyene Tommey in his remarks, thanked the organizers of the Youth prayer conference and berthing in Eket the second time, being the 60th edition.
“Let me thank the Executive Governor for supporting youth programs and also giving the youths opportunity to serve and which I’m a direct beneficiary. Today I am standing as the Executive Chairman of Eket Local and a I’m a youth”.
The Executive Chairman while recalling how the church grew, thanked the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Pst. Frank Archibong for his unparalleled gesture and support in providing a worship place for the City of Testimony Assembly.
The service was a gathering of youths of Akwa Ibom State in the constancy of seeking God and for His blessings. The journey berthed in Eket, Apostolic Church, City of Testimony, Akai Nyoho, a new edifice raised by Pst. Frank Archibong.
In separate voices, all the youths thanked His Excellency for being pro-youth and ensuring that the youths are gainfully employed and engaged in meaningful activities.
