President Muhammadu Buhari has met with Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, at the State House in Abuja on Thursday.
In a tweet via his Twitter page, Personal Assistant to the President, Buhari Sallau, said the Nigerian leader received the governor during a closed-door meeting over the suspension of strike by the Amalgamated Union of Foodstuffs and Cattle Dealers of Nigeria (AUFCDN).
Sallau, who also shared photos from the meeting, added that the President’s Chief of Staff, Prof Ibrahim Gambari is also at the meeting.
“President @MBuhari receives Governor of Kogi State Alhaji Yahaya Bello and with them is the Chief of Staff, Prof Ibrahim Gambari during a closed-door meeting over the suspension of Food dealers Strike at the State House Abuja,” he wrote.
Recall that Bello and former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode had met with the union in order to lift the embargo on foodstuffs which prevented farm produce in the North from crossing down to the South.
The union decided to suspend their strike on Wednesday after Bello and Fani-Kayode held a series of meetings with their leadership.
