The Executive Chairman of Mokwa Local Government, Hon. Jibril Abdullahi Muregi, along with the Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Hon. Aminu Suleiman Takuma, convened a stakeholders’ meeting involving representatives from all Eleven (11) Wards of the Local Government to discuss the modalities of distributing the palliatives.
In his remarks, Hon. Muregi acknowledged the receipt of N110,000,000 Million Naira from the State Government, with N10,000,000 Million Naira allocated to each of the Eleven (11) Wards through their respective Ward Committees.
He added that the local government Committee, led by the Commissioner, will adhere to the template provided by the Governor, and each Ward will nominate a trusted representative to receive the Ten Million Naira, with clear terms and conditions outlined.
In a separate address, Hon. Aminu Suleiman Takuma assured that his Committee would diligently supervise and monitor the distribution process to ensure transparency, as per the Governor’s instructions. He urged all stakeholders to work in the best interest of the local government.
Some of the resolutions reached at the meeting included:
- Nomination of trusted representative with a clearly written and signed undertaking by the stakeholders from all Eleven Wards present at the meeting.
- Approval for the establishment of Ward and Unit Committees.
- Food items to be purchased at the discretion of the Ward and Unit Committee Members.
- Pictorial and visual documentation of the food items distribution.
- A comprehensive report on the process.
