Kogi State politician, Samuel Alumka has reportedly died in a fatal road accident.
Alumka who was said to be an appointee of Governor Yahaya Bello reportedly died on Tuesday while heading to the ongoing All Progressives Congress, APC’s presidential primaries in Abuja, Naija News learnt.
According to Daily Post, the former Administrator of Bassa Local Government Area of Kogi died in a ghastly road crash that happened along the Gwagwalada area today.
The deceased was reported to have contested the House of Assembly election for the Bassa State constituency but lost to his opponent.
Reports are that Alumka’s remains have been transported to his home town in Bassa Local Government.
The news is coming shortly after reports emerged that a national delegate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who was in Abuja to participate in the ongoing special convention of the party, Isa Baba Buji had died.
It was gathered Buji was one of the delegates from Jigawa State.
Vice president Yemi Osinbajo was said to have expressed sympathy for the passing away of the politician.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Vice-President on Media and Publicity, Mr Laolu Akande, has in a tweet extended the condolences of his principal whilst disclosing that the APC delegate died on Tuesday afternoon in Abuja.
“VP Osinbajo saddened by news of the death this afternoon, in Abuja, of Alh. Isa Baba Buji, 61, one of our APC delegates from Buji Local Government, Jigawa State. He extends heartfelt condolences to his family, associates, Govt and people of the State and prays his soul rests in peace,” Akande tweeted.
The 61-year-old delegate who is from Buji Local Government of Jigawa State reportedly died after a brief illness.
