The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday evening, 16th February 2021, confirmed 1,368 new cases of Coronavirus disease infection in Nigeria.
The new cases of COVID-19 infection were confirmed via a statement on the official Twitter handle of the national health agency.
This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nigeria to 148,296 which includes 124,483 discharged cases and 1,777 deaths.
Below is the breakdown of the latest cases according to states with Anambra State having the highest number of cases followed by Oyo State.

Meanwhile, the 18 R runway of the Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos has been temporarily closed after an aircraft experienced a burst tyre while landing on Tuesday evening.
The aircraft is a Boeing 737 with registration 5N SYS, and flight number ZQ2325 belonging to Azman Air, Naija News understands.
Though no life was lost in the incident as all passengers and crew members were safely evacuated, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced a closure of the runway to flight operations.
The General Manager, Corporate Affairs, FAAN, Mrs Herrietta Yakubu in a statement confirmed the development.
